Hey Slash, speaking it smooth like you play. Thanks for your great playing. It's been fun coping your attitude when I gig your tunes. And by the way when I do teach your solo's and do my best to hitting your solo's note for note. My students jaws drop. I always teach them to hit the signature passages and cop the attitude. Thanks man.

Dear Slash.. You're dead on. The sky is blue.. Then why are so many players submitting themselves covering your solos? lol
  • Gianluca Capo says

The man is right... YOUR sound is the way!
I played in several cover bands but isn't the same, something sounds always different! Every one has his touch & feel on the instrument... indeed.
Damn better create something your own!
Find your instrument, work on your sound/style, put tracks togheter and hear your "creature" growing under your fingers... what else?!

I 100% agree with what Slash just said. Every guitarist in fact does have a unique personal style and sound to what they play even if they took influences and duplicate the sound of their favorite guitarists on their own. I personally believe every guitarist I ever listened to out of my favorite bands or all of them. Well. Had their own vibe going. Myself as a musician playing guitar, I do take what I did learn from other artists but I do my best to create my own sound through what influences I took and borrowed from my mentors in music. Funny thing is I can't even remember how to play the guitar solos in some of my songs because I rushed the overdubs when recording them. I just blasted the solo as the tape was rollin'.
